I like scones very much. After all, what could be easier to cook than these fast buns. 30 minutes and you can enjoy a wonderful breakfast. Also I like it because scones themselves are quite neutral and can be completed both sweet and savory toppings.
Classic Scones are cooked with milk or cream, but I came up to decision to make them with kefir. And I wasn't disappointed with result.

about 4 cups of Flour
2 tablespoons of butter
2/3 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 cups of Kefir
Note: I measured the flour "approximately" for obtaining not too tough, elastic dough.
Mix the flour with salt, sugar and soda. Rub melted butter into the flour mixture until a breadcrumb like consistency. Add kefir and combine until there is no more flour at the bottom of the bowl and the dough seems fully mixed.
Preheat the oven to 200° С. Using a rolling pin roll the dough out. Then cut out circles and put it on a greased baking sheet. Bake the scones for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
Cool a bit and serve warm.
ENJOY!!!
